Miss Sita

Sita Loomis is a Waldorf Certified and experienced Early Childhood Educator. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from Portland State University. She is a mother of 3 children and was first introduced to Waldorf education when she enrolled her daughter in 2002. During this time, she was inspired to start the teacher training at the Micha-el Institute and study eurythmy (an expressive movement art originated by Rudolf Steiner) with Portland Eurythmy.

Sita has been teaching for 20+ years in various local Waldorf schools and early childhood development centers. Her greatest joy and life's work is creating "home," one filled with the essential healing elements of healthy daily rhythms, cleanliness, good nutrition, movement, play, sleep and warmth, which all nurture the growing child. She has found that by seeing and observing children, especially during this golden age of childhood, is where truth and love resides.

"Children who live in an atmosphere of love and warmth, and who have around them truly good examples to imitate, are living in their proper element." (Rudolf Steiner, The Education of the Child)
